BYU Wins @ California

BYU pulls out another win at California's home field in a 42-35 win. They played this last Saturday, November 29, 2014, and now has a current record of 8-4.

The offense and defense both played well. The defense still isn't the best but on the last drive, they were able to stop California from scoring and tying the game. The offense had a great game with Christian Stewart getting his highest passing yard count in a game so far. He also got the most passing touchdowns in a game so far. Jordan Leslie also did well with the next best offensive performance of the game. Scott Arellano, the punter, helped a lot in pinning California back 3 out 4 times with his punts. Penalties are still a problem, but hopefully those improve. Despite those penalties, though, and the inconsistent execution of the defense, BYU as a whole team was able to get the win. The game was a hard-fought close game the whole time. With a half-time score of 21-14 (California winning), BYU was able to outscore in the second half with a defense who was able to stop California more than in the second half.

It has been a tough but good season for BYU so far. They are now 4-0 since their losing streak in October, and they should be able to make that 5-0 after the bowl game if they can continue to play as a whole team.

Their last game for this season is their bowl game, the Miami Beach Bowl, played in Florida on Monday, December 22, 2014, versus an American Athletic Conference team who is unknown right now. It is currently scheduled to be broadcast at 12:00 PM MST on an unknown network. When more details are announced, I will do a quick post about it.
