#SharetheGift 12/23/2014

When the star appeared in the sky, three wise men were called by King Herod to go see the Christ child (because the king was afraid the child). So they traveled to Bethlehem to find Christ. In the scriptures, it reads, "When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, frankincense, and myrrrh." (Reference: Matthew 2:1-11)

During this time of the year, let us give gifts to others. As the wise men did in giving gifts to Christ, we will be blessed if we do the same in thinking of others more than ourselves. The wise men were led by God through the star to the Christ child, so that they can share the news with others and have the wonderful opportunity to give what they had to Christ their Savior.

Let us do the same in giving to others this season...giving through physical objects or acts of service to those who are close to us. If we do that, it will help be a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.
